Welcome to theAIDS Solidarity Movement

The AIDS Solidarity Movement (the Movement) was established in 1989 in Cyprus, as a non-governmental and non-profit organisation.

The Movement envisions a world without social stigma, where all individuals can express themselves freely, with respect to one another and without any fear.

We provide services to People Living with HIV such as psychosocial support (since 1995), linkage-to-care, Antiretroviral Treatment (ART) dissemination, and advocate for human rights, equality and equity. We conduct surveys and community intervention to improve quality care and access to treatment, and promote the benefits of ART through the scientific truth of 'Undetectable = Untransmittable'.

In 2015, we established the Cy Checkpoint, through which we offer free, anonymous and rapid HIV/STI community testing, disseminate free condoms, gloves and lubricants, and peer counselling around safer sexual practices, access to PEP and PrEP.

In 2025, we established the Cyprus PrEP Point, through which we provide guidance, empowerment and support to all individuals who choose PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) as their preferred HIV prevention method. PrEP is available in Cyprus since October 2025.
