Who are we

The AIDS Solidarity Movement (or the Movement), is a Non-Governmental and Non for Profit Organization registered in the Republic of Cyprus. It was established in 1989 and since then it provides services, support and advocacy, related to HIV/AIDS issues.

The Movement aims to reach the point where People Living with HIV (PLWH) face zero stigma and zero discrimination in their lives. Our mission is to achieve a higher quality of life for People Living with HIV (PLWH) in Cyprus, support them to participate in the decisions that affect their health and empower them to have a voice of their own.

We offer psychosocial support to PLWH for more than 25 years. We promote interventions related to combination prevention, through the “Cy Checkpoint”, the Information and Prevention Centre for HIV and other Sexually Transmitted Infections, and the "Cyprus PrEP Point", the the Community Information and Empowerment Centre regarding PrEP for HIV.

We aim to create a society that allows everyone, including PLWH, to lead healthier lives, to enjoy their sexual and romantic relationships in safe spaces, where people can express themselves with respect to one another.
