* Window period
When your test result is negative, it is important to know that there is a period called the “window period”, during which a recent infection cannot yet be detected.
-
For example, rapid antibody tests have a window period of three months, which means they do not detect a possible transmission that happened within the last three months before the test date.
-
For other types of tests, we recommend asking the laboratory to inform you about the specific window period.
