“PrEP in Cyprus” Conference
The AIDS Solidarity Movement - Cyprus, the Prevention and testing Centre for HIV and other SITs: Cy Checkpoint and Accept LGBTI Cyprus, are co-organising the ”PrEP in Cyprus” Conference, on Saturday, May 11th, 2019, in Nicosia.
At the Conference, we will be presenting the findings from three surveys-sources, regarding the knowledge, attitudes, intention of use and current situation regarding PrEP, which is not yet officially available in Cyprus. Georgios Nikolopoulos, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health, at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus, has the scientific overview of all the data analysis.
We are honoured to have with us Dr. Ioannis Hodges - Mameletzis, representing the World Health Organization (WHO), and Sophocles Channos, from Positive Voice Greece, participating with keynote presentations in the Conference.
An open discussion panel will follow, with the participation of all keynote speakers, together with Dr. Linos Hadjihannas, the Scientific Coordinator of the HIV/AIDS Program from the Cyprus Ministry of Health, and Dr. Ioannis Demetriades, the Head of the HIV Reference Clinic in Cyprus.
We are hoping that this Conference will kick-start a public dialogue regarding PrEP and prevention for HIV.
The Conference will be held in the greek language.
